Hotel Smilga welcomes you with a pleasure.

Smilga *** is one of the first and largest (almost 1500 kw / m) hotel in the Old Town of Kėdainiai, by the Nevėžis River, located between the Old and Great Market Squares; Radville Mausoleum, St. Joseph and St. St. George's churches, three Jewish synagogues. The small family business was established in 2006, and UAB JUANI was named after the founders: JUlija and ANIcetas.
We are waiting for everyone who wants to visit one of the seven old towns protected by the Lithuanian state, walk along the river bank to the beach, taste Lithuanian, Samogitian cuisine, taste the southern or Jewish culinary heritage of the Radvilas, relax in the hotel spa and stay cozy overnight.

We support the principles of sustainable tourism - to use and conserve natural and cultural resources efficiently, not to buy unnecessary / surplus items.
-We move and repair old furniture to a second life with the help of a local small business. We dispose of completely unsuitable items or donate them.
-In-room power management card system.
-We sort garbage.
-We plant plants in the hotel yard and grow flowers indoors.
-Breakfast is served to everyone individually, thus avoiding food waste.
-We inform the client about excess food.
-Thanks if the customer only needs to change towels and bed linen once a week during a long stay.
-We use energy saving light bulbs.
-We will nurture the knowledge of cultures during the tastings of Jewish, noble Radvila and Samogitian food with the stories of the guide.
-We support pilgrims, hikers and cyclists.
-People need and donate books in the library.

These are just a few examples, but we believe that following the principles of sustainable tourism will give every customer a chance to think about what we will leave for future generations. We call on all to use resources efficiently and protect nature.

 

About Kėdainiai

Kedainiai is a town in Lithuania’s Midlands surrounded by Nevezis River and about 51 km to the north of the second biggest city Kaunas. Two rivers Dotnuvele and Obelis meet with Nevezis in Kedainiai. Around 31 000 people live in this town. Kėdainai was first mentioned in historical sources in 1372.
